Hour of Code…The Countdown is On

This year’s Computer Science Education week is December 4-10, and millions of students in over 180 countries will be celebrating with Hour of Code activities.

The Hour of Code is a global movement that started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, with an aim to demystify “code.” Anybody can learn the basics – and anyone, anywhere can participate!  We have several Runnymede classes taking part.

Want to join in the fun? The STEM Learning Committee at Runnymede invites you to try some of the activities available on the Hour of Code website. YouTube also has some great videos, with everyone from Bill Gates to Chris Bosh to Karli Kloss teaching basic programming concepts and motivation in 2 minutes or less.

And if you’d like to join the STEM Committee or help with upcoming activities, please contact runnymedestemcommittee@gmail.com.
