HSA Parent Council volunteers continue to create fun & enrichment opportunities at Runnymede!

A few recent examples include purchasing games for the Board Game Club
and Crochet hooks for Young Women on the Move club

We’re always still looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help out –
you can volunteer for just a one time activity, help at our monthly pizza lunches, make posters behind the scenes, come to help at the next Yard Day, lead an event like Movie Night, Pub Night or help with Math Amazing Race events, ART in schools, Green Teacher days, or you can even Chair a team or committee!

You don’t need experience, just a willingness to help out, as these events can’t happen without willing volunteers! If you can lend a hand in any capacity with any HSA Parent Council initiatives, we’d love to hear from you.

Your support makes a big difference – reach out today to join the fun!

As always, proceeds from all HSA Parent Council Fundraisers go to support the enrichment initiatives at Runnymede!

PARENT CLASS-REPS ARE STILL NEEDED!

Runnymede has a vibrant parent community that supports enriching school events through dedicated volunteers!
To ensure effective communication, HSA/Council requests each classroom to have a Parent Representative ‘Class Rep’ who serves as a liaison between parents and the Parent Council.

All classes still need reps except the following:
Martin, Chenery, Moens, Evangelou, Noel, Maniatis

Primary Roles of Class Rep

– Act as a liaison between the classroom and the Parent Council by attending four meetings scheduled throughout the year.

– Promote council events by sharing information with the class parent group

– Assist with class list creation if needed.

** Please note that communication on behalf of the teacher about academic or social matters is not part of the role**

If interested, please email RunnymedeCommunications@gmail.com
with your name & Teacher name

SPONSOR CIRCLE “SHOP FOR GOOD”

The Sponsor Circle and their “Shop For Good” Charity Platform adds purpose to your online purchases. Sponsor Circles’ chrome extension acts as a personal shopping assistant, automatically finding eligible discounts, coupons or special promotions when you shop online.

Here’s the best part: every time you make a purchase at the participating online merchants and brands (even when brands are on sale), a portion of the purchase price is donated to Runnymede HSA!

Sponsor Circle is completely free to use and won’t cost you anything when you shop. If it finds a coupon, you keep all the savings! The stores pay Sponsor Circle a commission on your purchase, and 100% of that commission is donated to us. It’s incredibly user-friendly (no credit card needed, no annoying pop-ups, and no special URLs to remember) just enjoy your savings and support our charity effortlessly.

How to Get Started:

  1. Click here to find Shop for Good on the Chrome Web Store and Install the Extension

2. SELECT the Runnymede Home & School Association to support

3. Register and start shopping!

Watch the Welcome video to learn more:  https://sponsorcircle.com/welcomeshop/

Whenever you are shopping on an eligible site, a pop up will appear to ask if you’d like to shop through SponsorCircle!

Some of the proceeds that are given to Runnymede HSA include:

Roots Canada – up to 10%

Trip.com – up 5.5% on hotels, 1% on airline

Mark’s – up to 4%

Decathalon – up to 3%

Cheekbone Beauty – up to 8%.

COME TO THE NEXT RUNNYMEDE HSA/COUNCIL MEETING!

Our parent-run Home & School Association (HSA) – also known as “PARENT COUNCIL” – is an excellent way for parents to get involved in their children’s education!
The HSA is the home of Runnymede’s Fun, Fundraising and Enrichment initiatives, and endeavours to improve the experience and outcomes for all students.

The Runnymede HSA is made up of an elected committee of representatives, and general membership can include all parents, staff, admin or community members who are interested in getting involved!

Get Involved: Whether or not you attend the meetings, there are lots of ways to volunteer your time, primarily through one of our vibrant committees. You are welcome — and encouraged! — to join at any time of year and contribute whatever you can.
