| On behalf of Runnymede’s School Council, welcome to a new school year! We hope you had a great summer break and first week of school. Council’s Green Committee is already working away planning outdoor enrichment programming for fall and we are excited about bringing back even more fun and engaging Council events throughout this school year. We know parents may have questions as students head back to school and we encourage you to attend our meetings for the most current information from our administration, teachers, and Committee chairs. The first Runnymede School Council meeting will be on Wednesday, September 28 from 7-8:30. We hope you can join us! We need your help! There are several openings on the Council Executive Committee this year, so we encourage anyone wanting to be actively involved in their child(ren)’s education to consider joining our Executive Council. Executive Council is made up of a group of parents who volunteer to lead the committees that run all the special activities to help support teachers and bring the school year to life. Think Spirit (pizza days, movie nights, socials, fundraising), Communications (newsletters, website, posters, etc.), STEM (math, science and technology activities, in school programs), Arts (art teacher visits, music initiatives) and more. We’re also looking for a second co-chair to join our committee. No experience is necessary! Joining our exec team is a great way to learn more about Runnymede, work closely with teachers and administrators, be involved in important decisions that affect all students and work with some amazing, dedicated parents!
