Runnymede Council Meeting & Executive openings!

On behalf of Runnymede’s School Council, welcome to a new school year!  We hope you had a great summer break and first day of school.

We know parents may have questions as students head back to school and we encourage you to attend our meetings for the most current information from our administration, teachers, and committee chairs.

The first Runnymede School Council meeting will be on Monday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. We hope you can join us!

We need your help!

There are some openings on the Council Executive Committee this year, so we encourage anyone wanting to be actively involved in their child(ren)’s education to consider joining our Executive Council. Executive Council is made up of a group of parents who volunteer to lead the committees that run all the special activities to help support teachers and bring the school year to life.

There are openings on our STEM Committee (math, science and technology activities, in school programs) as well as for the role of Treasurer. We’re also looking to fill some chair positions. No experience is necessary!

Joining our exec team is a great way to learn more about Runnymede, work closely with teachers and administrators, be involved in important decisions that affect all students and work with some amazing, dedicated parents! If you are interested in learning more, please contact us: runnymedeps@gmail.com

Remember to check out our website for council and school news and events. There is a very helpful calendar that is updated frequently. Click here.

Welcome Back!

We hope your first day of school went well!

Please check out this site to see what’s going on at Runnymede!

If there are things that need updating, have changed, or need to be added please feel free to email RunnymedeCommunications@gmail.com (we’re trying to get to every page!)

Check the Runnymede Reminders page each week or sign up to have emails sent directly to your inbox every Friday so you can know what’s happening at your child’s school, important dates to remember and special events you don’t want to miss!

Welcome Back!

Amazing Math Race needs volunteers!

The Runnymede STEM Committee is bringing back The AMAZING MATH RACE!
***Adult Volunteers needed
The Amazing Math Race is a Runnymede tradition which is a parent-led STEM program. We are bringing back this event for grade 4 & 5 students, so they can spend the afternoon indoors and outdoors
completing fun hands-on math activities! It is a half-day activity that needs parent volunteers to lead the
individual activities as groups of students rotate from station to station. With the help of grade 7 & 8 students, parent volunteers will help to set up materials for their activity and make sure that it runs smoothly for all the groups of students.
● Volunteers for the Grade 4 Amazing Math Race are needed on Thursday June 22nd at 11:30am-3:15pm
● Volunteers for the Grade 5 Amazing Math Race are needed on Friday June 23rd at 11:30am-3:15pm

Prior to the event there will be one zoom meeting with all adult volunteers so you can learn more about what will happen on the day of your event, to assign individual activities and to give you plenty of time to become familiar with your station. You do not have to be a math expert!

This is a way to help students connect through friendly competition and fun math games!
