HSA & SAC MEETINGS – SEPTEMBER 25
The Runnymede Home & School Association (HSA) and the Runnymede SAC (School Advisory Council) and both hold meetings in-person and via zoom that all are welcome to attend!
The first Runnymede School Advisory Council (SAC) & Home & School Association (HSA) meetings will be Thursday, Sept. 25 from 7 pm – 9pm in the library. Meetings will run one after the other, and will also be available via Zoom.

Runnymede HSA runs the FUN, FUNDRAISING & ENRICHMENT committees you are familiar with : Green, STEM, Arts, Athletics, Fun & Fundraising & Communications. The HSA is made up of a group of parents who volunteer to lead the committees that organize and run all the special FUN, FUNDRAISING & ENRICHMENT activities to help support teachers and bring the school year to life!
We encourage anyone wanting to be actively involved in their child’s education and enrichment this year to consider joining the HSA team!
Joining our exec team is a great way to learn more about Runnymede, work closely with teachers and administrators, be involved in important decisions that affect all students, and work with some amazing, dedicated parents! There are openings on ALL our committees so please find out more HERE.
No experience is necessary!
Sign up at our GENERAL VOLUNTEER LIST even if you’re just able to help out with a single event throughout the year. Events are simply not possible without volunteer help! We will reach out when the time comes for a specific event, with more information to see if you’re available.

THE RUNNYMEDE GEAR T-SHIRT SALE IS ON NOW! This store is for Runnymede athletic tees only – we will be offering the full store later this fall.
Store closes September 15 at midnight This sale is for the orange athletic tech shirts only and the sale will close on Monday September 15th in order for the shirts to arrive in time for the first cross country meet in early October! – we will not be able to process orders after the deadline.
Shirts will be delivered to the classroom prior to the first meet.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! FALL YARD DAY IS SEPTEMBER 27th
All Runnymede families are welcome to come out and join in this great RPS tradition!
Fall Yard is a school-based “community clean-up” morning where the whole family can weed and tidy the nature garden and outdoor classrooms at the school. We’ll collect litter, trim invasive plants and weeds, sweep and tidy.
Apple peeling, and a nature craft will be set up in the Adventure Yard (rear of school). We’ll also have nut-free baking snacks to share, and coffee for the grown ups! Stop by for an hour to help out, or come for the whole morning!

KINDERGARTEN MEET & GREET – OCT 4
Join us for an informal Kindergarten meet & greet playdate at Beresford Park (between Colbeck and Ardagh) on October 4 @ 10am until they’re tired out!
Come for a play, a chat, some coffee & timbits and to meet other Kindergarten families at Runnymede. We hope to see you there!

TORONTO MARLIES TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE!
Join your Runnymede friends to watch a fast-paced, exciting hockey game live then enjoy a post-game skate on the ice. 2 lucky kids will also get a Zamboni ride during intermission.
This event is open to extended family & friends too. A small portion of ticket sales goes to Runnymede Home & School association fundraising initiatives. $32 per person. Deadline to order is Wednesday, October 1st.
We are now required by the Ontario Federation of Home & School Associations to use the new payment system ZEFFY for all online transactions (like Pizza day orders, Direct donation, Marlies tickets etc) –
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SET ZEFFY’S ‘TIP’ OPTION TO ZERO AS A DEFAULT – YOU MUST CHANGE IT MANUALLY unless you want to donate a tip to Zeffy!! (see below) Thanks for your understanding.

If you’re planning on helping out next year, we have set up a CENTRAL VOLUNTEER SIGN UP on our website Volunteering page, so you can share your contact info.
Then, the HSA/Parent Council can email you when the time comes for that individual event or that specific committee needs help!

MATH AMAZING RACE : Wed, June 25 – Grade 4s & Thurs, June 26 – Grade 5s @ 12:30-3:15pm We need helpers at 6 game stations each day. There will be grade 7/8 students running the activities. SIGN UP HERE TO VOLUNTEER
Runnymede Fun Fair
TOMORROW is the last day toORDER FOOD– Food is only available by pre-order, and only ice cream will be sold on site. There will be no food sold day-of, due to the limited number of volunteers we have, we can’t run another food stand!
TOMORROW is the last day toBUY A WRISTBAND – wristbands will be distributed to classes on Wednesday, or can be picked up at Fun Fair if you don’t receive it in-class. Wristbands include all access to activities and include a cotton candy.

The Runnymede HSA / Parent Council ARTS Committee Proudly Presents:
Spring Arts Night Thursday, June 5 Doors open @ 6:30 pm Join us for a school-wide celebration of the arts!
Why is this night so special? For the first time, every student from Kindergarten to Grade 8 is part of the show! With nearly 1,000 students involved, the school will be transformed with thousands of stunning artworks and unforgettable performances you won’t want to miss. From the senior wing to the first floor, up to the second, and even outside—art will be everywhere!
Event Highlights Include:
Glow-in-the-Dark Galleries – by Senior students Two-Floor Art Crawl – featuring work by K–5 students Live Graffiti Artist – creating art on the spot Live Jazz in the Library – transformed into a speakeasy Dance Showcase – taking center stage outside Surprise Performances – you’ll have to be there to find out! And so much more!
Early Performances – Don’t Miss the Pre-Show! It’s a big, exciting day at Runnymede! Come early and enjoy outdoor performances starting at 4:00 PM on the field: Grades 1-3 – Folk Dance Grade 3 – Recorder, Ukelele Performances + Drama Skit Grade 4 – Band and String Ensemble Debut
This is a free event, and everyone is welcome! Come support and celebrate the incredible creativity of our students and teachers and enjoy a magical night of art, music, and community.
Runnymede School Council (SAC) is once again hosting the much-anticipated Staff Appreciation Lunch in celebration of Runnymede’s amazing and dedicated teachers, administrators, office staff, caretakers, lunch supervisors and crossing guards.
The Staff Appreciation lunch will take place on Thursday, June 12th in the Staff Room. All staff members are invited to enjoy a lunch provided and served by Runnymede families.
Runnymede Families…we need your help, in the form of yummy dishes contributed by you, to show the staff how much we appreciate what they do all year long for our students! We also have some volunteering slots for anyone who can help us at the event.
Please contribute a Food Item to the Potluck: Please see link below for what is needed and sign-up for a dish. Please specify what you will be bringing – though we appreciate all contributions, please scan the list for duplicates (variations of similar dishes is fine). All dishes must benut-free.
Dishes can be dropped off in the Office or Staff Room the day of the lunch between 8:30 -11:00 a.m. All food should come in disposable containers!
