Info for Cross-Country and Softball Players

We won’t always have all the details, but we will use this site to share any information we receive about sports teams, events, practices and tryouts. If you have some related information you think would be worth posting here, please share it with us!

  • Grade 1-6 Cross Country Running practices are open to EVERYONE! They take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 8:10 a.m., and last for about half an hour. Meet us in front of the school!
    • The first cross-country meet will be at Centennial Park on Monday, Oct. 3, and is open to any student who wants to come.
    • Students who qualify at that meet will attend the next race at Centennial Park on Tuesday, October 11. Finally, the City Championship run will take place on Thursday, October 20.

  •  Junior Softball Girls Tryouts and practices – Wednesdays and Fridays – 7:30 – 8:30 am:  Details will be posted outside the senior gym, or students can talk to the coaches for more details.

Two Important Meetings in Ward 7

We have received information from our trustee, Irene Atkinson, about two important upcoming meetings in Ward 7.

  • September 12, 2011, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.: Meeting of the Aquatics Working Group to continue to fight to keep Toronto pools open.
  • September 20, 2011, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.: Meeting of local candidates in the provincial election to present their party’s Education policy.

Parents are encouraged to get involved in both meetings. Please visit our Ward 7 page for details.

First Day of School!

(Note that in order help them transition to Runnymede in smaller groups, junior kindergarten students start in waves – if your letter from the school said to start on the 7th, then your first day is, in fact, tomorrow.)

Welcome back, Runnymede! All the best for a great start to the new school year.

Today also marks the official launch of our new Council website! We’ve been building and testing throughout the summer, but we are always open to comments and suggestions – so please leave yours in the comments field below. We hope you find this to be a valuable resource.
