Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2018 / 2019 Runnymede PS school year! We look forward to continuing to offer the traditional programs that make Runnymede a special place to learn within the TDSB. We expect there will also be many new and enriching experiences for our students.
I would like to begin by offering special acknowledgment to our office staff (Ms. Waicus, Ms. Roberts, and Ms. McCrimmon) and our Caretaking Staff who have ensured that the school is ready for the first day of the school year.
We are excited to welcome many new teachers to Runnymede PS this year. That said, our “new” teachers are not new to teaching. They bring over 75 years of combined teaching experience with them. They will share their expertise, interests, knowledge and love of teaching with our students and their colleagues.
Over the summer, we began the Library refurbishment. The Library will be ready for student use within the first couple weeks of school. Our Library will be a welcoming environment with fresh paint, replaced flooring, new furniture and shelving. The refurbished Library will allow students to access books and technology and be a hub of the school. Thank you to Mme. Blanchard for working hard to ensure the Library is ready to welcome students from all grades and classes.
We also had new window coverings installed in the Sr. Gymnasium last June. The new window coverings will be an added benefit for our gym classes, assemblies, performances, and concerts.
We encourage parents to get involved in the activities that take place at Runnymede. The best way to be involved is through school council. Our first school council meeting will take place on Thursday September 27, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the Library.

Furthermore, parents are encouraged to follow the TDSB parent concern protocol if any issues of concern arise. It is always best to have open communication with your Child(ren)’s teacher to ensure success.
Reminder: please register on-line for our cashless payment system. Teacher’s will no longer be collecting any money. All payments for any purchases or activities must be made through the online system.

Arjola Ceni – Grade 3-4 F.I. – Portable 2 (replacing Ms. Gordon)
Mike Lymer – Grade 6 HR & Sr. Art – Room 246 (replacing Mr. Wright)
