2022/2023 HIGHLIGHTS

STEM & INNOVATION ACHIEVEMENTS

On Saturday April 1, 2023, our senior students represented Runnymede in the Regional Toronto Science Fair held at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. Our budding scientists, had a chance to present their research or experiments to experts in their field of research and vie for a chance to represent Toronto in the Canada-Wide Science Fair.

All three of our gr. 8 teams received regional recognition by bringing home bronze medals.
Congratulations to:
Emme M. and Elaina B. for their research on Pollution in our Water,
MJ S. and Genevieve B. for their research on Personality Types and Career Choices; and,
Luke D. and James E. for their research on Concussions: Cognitive Issues in Athletes Post-Career.
Wonderful work!

RUNNYMEDE CLUBS:

CHESS CLUB FOR GRADE 6-8 STUDENTS♟️

Mr. Reynolds is hosting a Chess Club for grade 6, 7, and 8 students starting on Monday, December 12 in the Library Learning Commons (LLC). It will continue on each Day 5 in the cycle until the March Break. There is no sign-up, but attendance will be taken each day. Students should eat their lunches in the cafeteria and then proceed to the LLC at about 11:40 AM for play. It is geared towards beginners and there is plenty of coaching to get started. Ideally students would attend consistently, rather than sporadically, and be motivated to play cooperatively with peers.

Let’s make some good moves!

SENIOR MATH CLUB
