Clubs & Teams

Thank you to our Runnymede teachers, staff, and parents who volunteer their time to lead a variety of teams and facilitate a variety of clubs throughout the year.  Their dedication towards providing a variety of experiences at Runnymede are valued and enjoyed by our students.

Runnymede Club offerings and information will be updated for the 2022/2023 school year as we confirm what will be available!

Mr. Reynolds is hosting a Chess Club for grade 6, 7, and 8 students starting on Monday, December 12 in the Library Learning Commons (LLC). It will continue on each Day 5 in the cycle until the March Break. There is no sign-up, but attendance will be taken each day. Students should eat their lunches in the cafeteria and then proceed to the LLC at about 11:40 AM for play. It is geared towards beginners and there is plenty of coaching to get started. Ideally students would attend consistently, rather than sporadically, and be motivated to play cooperatively with peers.

Let’s make some good moves!

For the last couple months, a group of motivated grade 7 and 8 students have been solving a variety of math problems
during their lunch on Thursdays. Under the direction of Mr. Harwood, the Math Club wrote the Beaver Computing
Contest this week. Congratulations to all participants!

Mr. Harwood will be starting the next math club in January, preparing for the Math League contest this winter.

Our Gr. 4-5 Runnymede Green Team members will be meeting with JK-Grade 5 classes in the coming
